Juan Ramirez (one/one)

Organization: artBiin
Role: Designer | AI Solutions Engineer | Software Engineer
Bio: Born in Caqueta, Colombia, I moved to Canada with my family in 2002 as political refugees. This significant life change not only shaped my personal story but also sparked my deep interest in technology and art.

As a software and electronics engineer, I've had the privilege of working on a variety of projects, from developing solar-powered traffic lighting to creating hydrocarbon leak detection systems for major oil companies. What sets me apart is my hands-on approach, personally testing and installing the products I design.

Lately, I've focused on blending art and technology. By leading community projects, I've combined interactive installations, digital art, and tech education. My workshops have helped artists, businesses, and students understand new technologies like NFTs and AI tools such as ChatGPT and Midjourney AI. I believe that as these technologies become more common, it's crucial to share knowledge widely so everyone can benefit.

At my core, I value curiosity, creativity, and play. My journey from the Amazon rainforests to today's digital world reflects my commitment to inspiring and educating others. I work with arts organizations, universities, design studios, and cities across Canada and beyond. By collaborating, questioning, and designing new programs, I strive to build strong, adaptable communities and cultural organizations ready to face any challenges.
